| Utah School of Theology
The Utah School of Theology is a Contextualized Leadership Development (CLD) training center of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary located in Mill Valley, CA. This center is established under a cooperative effort of the Salt Lake Baptist Association (SLBA), Utah-Idaho Southern Baptist Convention (UISBC) and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (GGBTS). Purpose The purpose of this institution is to develop leaders within the context of our field of ministry, allowing the participants to continue their ministry and at the same time receive training that equips them for effective leadership. Diplomas Offered Diploma in Christian Ministry (DCM) is offered at a pre-baccalaureate level, and consists of seven required courses plus one elective course. These courses constitute basic training in Christian thinking, living and leading for persons entering ministry in or through a local church. Diloma in Theology (DTH) intends to offer pre-baccalaureate diploma level training for those in or entering ministry leadership positions. Admission to the DTH program is contingent upon completion of the Diploma in Christian Ministry or the equivalent. The DTH is a ten-course program beyond the DCM which can be completed in one to two years. Diploma in Church Planting (DCP) is identical to the Diploma in Theology, except that the DCP requires "Church Planting" (CLP 1313) as an elective. Graduation Upon completion of the Diploma Program, the student will have the opportunity to walk in the graduation ceremonies at GGBTS in Mill Valley, CA, and will receive their diploma in that ceremony. Requirements for Admission Students must have a high school education or a GED equivalent to be eligible for the program. However, some exceptions can be made accounting for life experience in ministry. Students under 21 years of age without a high school education or the GED equivalent are not eligible for the program.
